Registered with the British Wheel of Yoga, 200 hours qualified, and with a PhD in Cultural Heritage, I offer a hybrid type of yoga founded in Hatha. Bringing together an understanding of the history and tradition of yoga I aim to give more people access to its benefits for health and wellbeing. I'm in the third and final year of a Level 4 Diploma in Yoga Teaching (500 hours) with the British Wheel of Yoga.

Do I need to be fit?

Absolutely not!

Yoga is about moving your body in a way that feels good. Forget what you see on social media and  forget what other people are doing. It's just you and your breath on the mat, moving in the way that feels right for you.

All postures and movements have adjustments and modifications.

If you are unsure, get in touch at HawkeYoga@gmail.com

You can always check with your GP if you are worried about a medical condition.

My students say:

"I found the class to be extremely interesting, as Steph explained snippets of yoga history relevant to what we were doing. Instructions were calm and concise. Multiple options offered for each pose. Good breath work, which was very well explained and I really enjoyed it."

About me

I'm 200 hours qualified and in the third and final year of my Level 4 Yoga Teaching Diploma with the BWY (500 hours). I have a PhD in Cultural Heritage and combine an interest in the tradition and history of yoga with an enthusiasm for health and wellbeing.

I believe everyone, regardless of fitness, interest or inclination, can experience the benefits of yoga.

"The class felt very 'individual' and spiritual. Loved it!"

A great start to a Friday, I headed off to work feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Steph created such a relaxing and safe space for us all to really reflect on ourselves and take some time out to just unwind. It was a great experience and will definitely be going again!
This class is excellent and very informative if you have never attended a yoga class before.  Excellent for beginners or like me not attended a class for a while.
